GROUP ACTIVITES:
- FOYER GROUPS (small groups of 8 to 10 St. James’ parishioners who meet for fellowship and dinner at a group member’s house once a month) are reorganizing. All are welcome. If you’d like to join, contact Doug & Joan Corderman through the Church Office at (703)777-1124 before Monday, April 7.
- The ST. JAMES’ BOOK CLUB will discuss William Young’s The Shack, a provocative novel that explores themes of redemption and grace, on Thursday, April 10. Please join us in the Janney Parlor at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome! Please bring a snack or beverage to share. (Want to get a head start on next month’s book? We’ll discuss Dance of the Dissident Daughter by Sue Monk Kidd in May. Contact Mary Pellicano through the Church Office at (703)777-1124 for more information.)
- GOTTA RAKE? Come join George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Barack Obama, the New York Yankees, and the Property Committee at the 99th Annual St. James’ Spring Clean-up Day (well, maybe not the 99th) on Saturday, April 12, starting at 8:30 a.m. Celebrities will sign autographs for everyone bringing a rake, work gloves, and a real desire to work. Fabulous refreshments will be provided.
YOUTH GROUPS:
- YOUTH MISSION SHARES: Beginning today, youth will be selling shares in their summer mission trips to North Carolina, Liberia, West Virginia, and Mississippi. Shares cost $10 a piece, and all proceeds go to mission. As a shareholder, you will receive a postcard from the youth on their mission site, and you’ll be invited to our shareholders’ dinner in August. Please stop by the table in the Narthex to purchase shares.
- YOUTH MISSION FUNDRAISING DINNER: On Friday, April 25, at 7:00 p.m., the youth who are going on a summer mission trip to Liberia will be servers at a fundraising dinner hosted by L’Auberge Chez Francois in Great Falls, VA. L’Auberge Chez Francois is a five star restaurant owned by the Haeringer family. The cost per person is $150, which includes a six course meal, beverages, and gratuity. St. James’ has reserved a private room that can seat 50 people. If you’d like to join us, please sign up with the Church Office by calling (703)777-1124.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
- EASTER OFFERING: Many thanks to those of you who generously supported this year’s Easter Offering. If you were out of town and want to contribute to the Easter Offering, please write “Easter Offering” in the memo line of your check, and place it in the offering plate.
