A Special Congregational Meeting will be held next Sunday, March 30, at 10:00 a.m. in the Nave. At this Congregational Meeting, members of St. James’ will:
Today, St. James’ continues our longstanding custom of donating 100 percent of our Easter offering (all donations received that are not regular pledge payments) to outreach. This year, 50 percent of your donation will go to help the Aurora School — a Loudoun County organization serving children with autism and other special needs — move into the Paxton property in Leesburg; 25 percent will go to help our Middle School youth finance, build and plant a garden at the Jackson-Feild Homes (group homes in Richmond and Jarratt, VA, that take in at-risk adolescent girls); and the remaining 25 percent will go to help fund St. James’ parishioners’ efforts to bring sanitary water to the poor of Western Honduras through the efforts of Agua Para el Pueblo (APP). Please make checks payable to St. James’ Episcopal Church and mark the memo line “Easter.”
SUNDAY SCHOOL AND YOUTH GROUP will not meet today, but will resume next Sunday. Adult Forum will not meet today but will resume on April 6 due to the Congregational Meeting on March 30 (see the notice below.)
SPECIAL THANKS TO WALLY & CAROLINE ENNIS for their hard work restoring the Cross that is used on Good Friday.
The CHURCH OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED EASTER MONDAY (March 24), and will reopen Tuesday, March 25, at 9:00 a.m. We close again on Friday, April 4, when the lay administrative staff goes on a planning retreat for the day.
WELCOME, NEWCOMERS! Please plan on attending our next Newcomers’ Coffee on Sunday, April 6, at 10:15 a.m., in the Janney Parlor. This is an informal, friendly time for you to ask questions, meet fellow parishioners and receive an informative Welcome packet.
