As many of you have heard, on October 4,
Fr. John had a terrible tragedy in his family back in Indiana. His niece, Susan Elizabeth Moulder, at whose wedding he was to have officiated on
October 27, was killed in an apparent murder-suicide by her fiancé, Jason Creed
Broadwater. Fr. John is with his sister
and the rest of his family in Indiana where he officiated at Susan’s funeral on
October 11. Fr. John has a strong
family, many friends, and is buoyed by the many prayers of the people of St.
James’. He asks your prayers for Susan,
Jason, and their families. Many
parishioners have asked about memorials; in lieu of flowers, the family has
requested that donations be made to Love of Labs, Inc. (LOLIN), P.O. Box 237,
Noblesville, IN 46061 or www.LOLIN.org.
Annual Giving Campaign
¨
Our
annual giving campaign is now underway.
¨
Unless
you’re a newcomer – in which case, you are our guest – you should have already
received a pledge card.
¨
We
ask that you return your pledge card between now and Sunday, October 28.
¨
By
doing so, you help your Vestry get an accurate picture of how much money we can
plan on to fund St. James’ ministries and mission for 2008.
¨
We
conclude our Annual Giving Campaign with a potluck “victory dinner” at Ida Lee Rec Center, on Sunday, October 28, at 5:00 p.m. – See the
orange insert!
