Sunday Morning Adult Forum in Lent:

“What's the first thing Jesus says after he's raised from the dead?”

During this Easter season, Fr. John and Rev. Kate will lead Adult Forum in an examination of the first things the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John record about that first Easter.

• Sunday, April 6: Did you know that the resurrection itself is never described in any of the gospels? So what DO the four gospels say about that first Easter?

• Sunday, April 13: Why “greetings,” “do not be afraid,” and “go make disciples” are the first things Jesus says in Matthew after he’s raised from the dead.
• Sunday April 20: Shall we really end Mark’s story with “They said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid”? Or would a charge to be snake-handling, poison-drinking, tongue-speaking followers be better?
• Sunday, April 27: Why would Jesus ask, “What are you discussing as you walk along?”, say “How foolish you are, and how slow of heart!”, and “Do you have anything here to eat?” A study of the resurrection appearances in the Gospel of Luke.
• Sunday, May 4: “Why are you crying…do not hold onto me…peace be with you…” are the first things Jesus says in the Gospel of John, and why.
