Application for Admission 2008-09

Dear Parents,

 

Thank you for your interest in St. James’ Preschool.  We will begin our thirty sixth year this fall! We are pleased to provide this ministry to our church families and the community.

 

Please complete the attached application form and return by mail or in person to our office with a $100.00 NON-REFUNDABLE application fee by the appropriate date below.

 

The enrollment dates are listed below. These are the dates when we will begin placing students into classes.  We encourage you to mail forms in prior to this date, where they will be held and considered received on the indicated deadline dates.  This will be a random process and is not based on postmarks or on when a registration form was received – in other words, all applications received by their applicable deadline will be considered equally.  If there are more requests for a class than space available, a second choice will be honored and a waiting list started.  Students enrolled in their second choice class will only have the opportunity to switch to their first choice class if an opening becomes available before Nov. 1.  Changes after that date will be made only on a case by case basis. Deadlines for forms to be returned to the Preschool Office are as follows, with priority given in this order:

 

DEADLINE:

February 8       St. James’ Episcopal Church Active Member & St. Gabriel’s Active Member

February 15     Returning Students and their Siblings

February 22     Graduating Student’s Siblings

February 22     Alumni and Community Members 

 

For purposes of preschool admissions and clarification, “membership” at St. James’ Episcopal Church is defined as those who actively and regularly participate in the worship, mission, ministry, and educational offerings of St. James’ Church, and who support St. James’ through regular contributions on a written financial pledge. This also holds true for members of St Gabriel’s. The clergy and vestry of St. James’ will resolve any dispute concerning the interpretation of this provision.  Their decision will be final and may not be appealed.

 

Classes will begin in September and end in May.  The annual tuition for each class will be divided into nine monthly payments.  One month’s tuition will be due May 1, 2008 in order to hold your child’s place. This “commitment payment” will be non-refundable and applied towards your last month’s tuition.  We need to receive your check by May 15th or we will go to our waiting list.  On September 1st, and each month thereafter, monthly tuition will be paid on the 1st of each month through April.  After September 1st, if you need to withdraw your child, we will require thirty days notice.  All other decisions are at the discretion of the Co-Directors and the Preschool Board of Directors.  

 

All three, four, and five year olds must be potty-trained (no pull-ups, please). Please see the enclosed information packet and application form for a schedule of our classes and their respective age requirements.  Thank you for your consideration of our school.
