Intercessory prayer is the action of prayer on behalf of another. St. James' has a prayer team that attends to such requests.
A prayer team is a small group of people (a prayer cell) that dedicates time to intercessory prayer on a daily basis.
Members meet once a month to pray, and to review and update all requests submitted since the prior meeting.
Our meetings open with 10-15 minutes of silent prayer. Then a member leads 20-30 minutes of guided meditation, contemplative prayer, or shares an inspirational reading or exercise.
Prayer requests may be written in the tablet on the stand behind the last pew near the center aisle. Requests also may be phoned to any member of the prayer team.
