Education for Ministry
A program of theological study by extension from the School of Theology of the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.
Every baptized person is called to ministry. During the Service of Confirmation we ask God to “Renew in these your servants the covenant you made with them at Baptism. Send them forth in the power of the Spirit to perform the service you set before them.” The EFM program provides people with an opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Christian service and carry out their ministries.
Small seminar groups in size from 6-12 students meet weekly for a 9-month period. Trained mentors facilitate the groups through thought provoking texts. This is a 4-year course committed one year at a time containing studies of The Old Testament, The New Testament, Church History, and Theological and Moral Choices.
